MeetCompass

The alarm that calls you.

Compass has no ringtone. At your wake-up time a voice calls, makes sure you're up, and then tells you about your day: the weather, your calendar and your goals.

  • Weather
  • When rain starts
  • Your calendar
  • Your goals
  • A quote, if you like
  • Questions back

In every morning briefing, read to you in a few minutes.

How it works

An alarm you answer,
not one you snooze.

It calls. It doesn't ring.

At your wake-up time Compass takes over the screen like a phone call. Tap Talk, and the voice you picked is on the line.

Pick who wakes you

Six voices, each with its own way of getting you up. George is dry: "The bed will still be there tonight. I checked."

Still in bed? It calls back.

Ending the call doesn't count. Until you say you're up, Compass calls back 9 minutes later, twice at most.

Then it briefs you on your day

Once you're up, the voice runs through your weather, your calendar and your goals, short or long, the way you set it.

Ask about your day

It's a conversation, not a recording. Once you're up, talk back: Compass knows your calendar, the forecast and what you're working toward.

  • Calendar
  • Forecast
  • Rain
  • Your voice
  • Goals
  • Quote
  • "What's my first meeting?"
  • "Do I need an umbrella?"
  • "Who's coming to standup?"
  • "Read it again."

Google Calendar is optional and read-only. Compass never changes your calendar.

Made to get you up

Built for the minute after the alarm

Most alarms stop at noise. Compass keeps going until you're out of bed, then points you at your day.

  • 9minutes, then it calls back

Hit Stop and roll over, and the phone rings again 9 minutes later. Only saying you're up, or tapping I'm up, calls it off.

  • 2call-backs at most

At 9 and 18 minutes. Persistent, not endless: after the second, Compass lets you be.

  • 3goals kept in view

Name up to three things you're working toward. Compass brings them up every morning, and each can have its own alarm.

  • 6voices to choose from

Calm Eric, upbeat Jessica, dry George, sharp Alice, Charlie the coach and gentle Sarah. Swipe through them and hear each one before you pick.

Your data

Your mornings stay yours

Compass keeps what it knows about you on your phone. It doesn't sell your data or show you ads.

  • AlarmsOn your phone
  • GoalsOn your phone
  • Calendar eventsOn your phone
  • SettingsOn your phone

Kept on your phone

Your alarms, goals, settings and calendar live on your phone, not on Compass's servers. During a call, the voice gets only what it needs to talk about your day.

Read-only calendar

Connecting Google Calendar is optional. You choose which calendars Compass reads, and it never changes them.

Goals with their own alarms

Give a goal a time, once or on chosen days, and Compass calls you to it. Tap I'm on it, and it's marked done.

No ads. Not for sale.

Compass doesn't sell your data or show ads. Your voice isn't recorded, and call transcripts are deleted after 30 days.

Short or long

A quick run-through of your first three events, or every one of them. Add a quote to start the day, or leave it out.

Gone when you say so

Delete your account in Settings, and it's gone from the server at once, with everything on your phone. How to delete

Compass's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The privacy policy lists everything that leaves your phone and why.
